Aries Season/April 2018

Looking ahead: Aries season

Pisces season provided us with ample time for self-reflection, self-inquiry and emotional healing through forgiveness, surrender, and the release of self-sabotaging thoughts, relationships and behaviours that are no longer serving our spiritual growth and life purpose. All this inner work may have put the rest of our lives on hold or kept us moving at a slower pace, and this was to ensure that once Spring came around, we would have the appropriate emotional foundations in place to ensure our period of resumed activity in the world was taking off on sound footing.

As the first sign of the zodiac wheel, Aries carries the energy of new beginnings, personal projects and authentic self-expression. Mars, the ruler of the sign, ensures a strong and excitable personal will is ours during Aries season, so if you’ve been feeling stifled and limited by all that inward focused Piscean energy, you can rejoice in the fact that more movement and outwards expression is on its way. It’s finally time to mobilize your inner warrior in the pursuit of your passions! Aries is known for its independence and desire to remain authentic in all it does. Walk to the beat of your own drum and nurture the aspects of yourself that make you different from the rest. It’s truly the time to embrace what keeps your inner fire going and to share it with the world.

The coming month is not without its trials, however, as the first two weeks of April open with Mercury retrograde (it will station direct on April 15th), followed by Saturn going retrograde on the 17th and Pluto on the 22nd, bringing our total of retrograde planets to 3 alongside Jupiter in Scorpio. Planets in retrograde symbolize our need to likewise go into a kind of retrogradation, reassessing our approach to our spiritual belief systems (Jupiter), inner disciplinarian (Saturn) and sense of personal power (Pluto). So although we’ll be in a refreshing hustle of activity in contact with the outside world, it’s important to stay mindful and learn quickly from our mistakes as we move along.

Lunar cycles

April 15th: New Moon in Aries

This fiery New Moon comes into a conjunction with Uranus, the divine rebel of the solar system, and places pressure on the inner warrior to express our most authentic and revolutionary self. The nature of Uranus pushes us in the direction of personal liberation through the dissolution of personal illusions. In order to understand the changes and shifts that Uranus is bringing in, ask yourself what illusions you might be holding onto that are increasing your bondage to the material world instead of allowing you to move more freely as an agent of your own destiny in life. This is a time to act in alliance with your highest ideals and beliefs, but without allowing those beliefs to alienate you from others. Set you intentions for how you’d like to your authentic self-expression to be received by the outside world and move forward with enthusiasm for your passions.

April 29th: Full Moon in Scorpio

The axis of tension between the Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio rests primarily on the management of our desire nature as it relates to finances, relationships and personal values. With helpful aspects from Saturn, the teacher and disciplinarian of the zodiac, now is a good time to take note of how well we are managing our sensual, material and spiritual desires. Attachment to any outcome, whether it be financial, relational or spiritual in nature, ultimately inhibits our inner harmony and ability to attract what we are longing for. Mastering this balance is the terrain of Venus, the ruler of Taurus, where the Sun sits during this Full Moon. It is important for us to push in the direction of personal growth but release all expectations of what it will look like or what riches it will bestow, whether they be material or spiritual. This is the only way into understanding our personal power as not being defined by any outside situation or circumstance. Be mindful of the ways in which your desires contribute to a lack of inner harmony, and work to release your attachments in order to restore a more effortless flow of energy.

Flower Essence Therapy from Ines Heals:

Flower essence therapies are remarkable allies for breaking destructive emotional patterns that cause mental anguish and behavioral problems, ultimately manifesting as physical disease. In his writings, Dr. Bach went so far as to say that the physical manifestations of disease should be given little attention, while the emotional and mental patterns of the individual should be examined in depth, for they are the causative factors of the disturbance felt at the physical level.
